AVIRA Free on Win 7 Crashes, cannot uninstall / reinstall

OS version = Windows 7 Pro SP1

Every time the computer boots something crashes.

Right clicking on the taskbar icon has the following results :

• Manage Antivirus : crashes
• Run Scan : works  (Result is all ok)
• Turn off/on Real Time Protection : works
• Turn on VPN : "it's not possible to connect to the VPN" but no error
• Update AntiVirus : no visible error, cannot tell if it completes or not
• Open Avira Security : crashes

Control Panel > Uninstall crashes with different Problem Signature

Both problem signatures follow. What do you suggest I do?

  Hello George,

  Since Windows is ancient and has not been supported by Microsoft for a long time, it is important that the latest version of Windows 7 is installed.
  In the case of a paid version, a check could be forwarded to the technicians - although even there, the problem of an old faulty installation cannot necessarily be fixed. As technology advances, it is quite possible that these advances in technology will not be compatible with outdated systems. 
  Due to the limited possibilities, it is very difficult to support outdated systems (with multiple error messages) in a forum like the community is here. In addition, it would also be significant to know if Avira AntiVirus is updated correctly.

  I totally agree. I am not monitoring this system, I was asked to sort the situation out. It would be ok just to uninstall the application but I cannot even do that.
