Password Manager Chrome Browser extension does not lock

The browser extension gives access to all my passwords without having to login when I open Chrome on my Windows laptop. I turned the Autolock to 10min, but it doesn't seem to do anything. I was hoping this would lock access to my passwords after a 10 minute window and that to access my passwords again I would need to re-enter my master password. Did I interpret this autolock feature incorrectly or is it simply not working?

  It started working today. Maybe the setting takes up to 24hrs before it kicks in?
