Cleaning cookies from Edge

After running a scan, Avira Prime tells me I have cookies to clear on Chrome and Microsoft Edge. But first I must close Microsoft Edge. The problem is that Edge is NOT open! So, how do I close that browser when it's not open? Thanks in advance for your help.
