    I have the same problem. 

    ad 1. I found that if you execute c:\Program Files (x86)\Avira\Security\Avira.Spotlight.Systray.Application.exe

    the systray icon ist vivible ans working. But its bad, you have to do this at every (re)start of windows

    sounds like a bug that needs to be fixed.

    I will maybe run repair or reinstall.

    any thoughts on point 2.. where are the log files now that use to be in?:

    C:\ProgramData\Avira\Antivirus\LOGFILES

    Ok Solution to #1  downloaded the latest install file from Avira site.

    Double clicked it and ran "Repair".

    The system tray icon is restored.

     

    2. Still can't find the log files  that use to be in C:\ProgramData\Avira\Antivirus\LOGFILES

    Avira,  anyone?   any insight as to where they might be?

    Hello, after new release I get the same issue.

    Alternative trick: go to personalize your system/app tray, where you can choose to display Avira Icon and its notification. Anyway that Icon is a closed umbrella and its notification says that real time protection is unable. After click to able it, the ombrella is open.

    Report section is totally disappared from the setting panel (as knowledge tell where it is supposed to be)

    It needs Avira fix this

    Well, the alternative trick I proposed is partially working, because after the reboot the umbrella is still closed. No solution from repair button under "control panel/ disinstall/repair".

    Moreover, after the repair the quarantine box is now empty, so I don't know how eventually recover the file that was there. Is this normal?

    OK, after the repair mode by the Avira Site I get the right icon and status in the system tray (as Solution#1 suggested by Stephen, thx).

    Report/log files still missing, so also the file previously quarantined

    Interesting, we can't be the only ones having these issues

    I think I will create a second post specifically on the logs missing.
