Brand New Computer has Malware?

Hello,
I have a brand new laptop. My last one was damaged during moving and I admit it was quite cluttered. I buy a brand new one same model and make and have my data transferred. A week and a half later I notice files appearing and disappearing from my main file in dropbox. It drives me nuts makes me think I'm just overstressed until I click on a file in Windows Explorer on the left (no files). Then I clicked on the same exact file on the right and the files are back. I double and triple checked it. Then the files disappeared altogether. Is this possible malware or am I seriously just that stressed and need to go back to bed? LOL.
iI also ran AVIRA PREMIUM and it showed nothing.

when using the new laptop some things still seem to not work properly. You did not specify the OS. Who transferred your data to the new device? The strange behavior should probably be discussed with the person who transferred the data to discuss the memory locations with you. Yes, it's like this, click left or right has different functions...
