Enter license key offline in the new Avira Pro. Is no longer possible?

Is there no longer the option to activate the antivirus without having connexion to the internet? Are there no more license keys or the possibility of entering the product activation key from the Windows application itself and without having to log in to AVIRA?

  Your question is difficult to understand. In order to log in to Avira, an Internet connection is important.

  Did you buy your license in the Avira Online Shop or in a store? For both versions you will find a description how to activate your license.
  When you purchase in the Avira Shop, the license is immediately activated to the email address you used for the purchase. This correct email address is important when logging into the customer account!

  Thanks for your answer. It is a privacy issue. I don't like being forced to log into desktop programs installed on a PC. The antivirus, once installed, works the same even if you don't log in. With Avira products until recently, once you purchased a license you could download the key or enter the key directly into the product, without having to log in. This also allowed to reinstall the product after a problem with windows and quickly enter the key to activate it again, even without an internet connection. With this new system, the internet connection at the time of activation is essential. I suppose it is an anti-hacking measure, but for me, who has been an Avira Pro customer for many years, it is a drawback and this will probably mean that I have to look for other antivirus options.

  Hello Jacco,

  Yes, it's true, the activation code is no longer sent out as an identification. The license is activated directly with the customer's email address - i.e. his Avira customer account - when the license is purchased. An activation code no longer needs to be inserted. As described in the link above.

  Unfortunately this regulation does not correspond to your expectations, we are sorry. Maybe at some point there will be a solution that is acceptable for you, there are always new programs being added.
