splash screen
TerminéeGreetings -
Ever since the most recent update - the one that wants to install Opera - Avira Free Security (Version 1.0.37.12019) puts up a splash screen whenever I boot my system. I can't find a setting for this anywhere and would prefer to turn this off or uninstall and reinstall an older version.
Of course if I uninstall the application, I may as well put a different highly regarded piece of software on my computer. I've been very happy with AFS up to this point, but this splash screen has started becoming a stone in my shoe. Any help you could provide would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Hello Rick,
This is strange. This is said to be fixed with version no. 1.0.37.12019, which is available since yesterday. Since when does the error occur with you.
And please also state which OS, current status, some more detailed information.
The old version is no longer available. If this has been going on for some time, it would be wise to keep watching for a few days. If it occurs since yesterday, it should be checked. This would now be new in the fixed version.
The problem has now been corrected and is fixed with version 1.0.37.12019

Hi Pascha -
Thanks for the quick reply. The About menu says I'm running Version 1.0.37.12019, so I don't know what the problem is. I'm running Windows 10 Pro, Version 10.0.19041, Build 19041. Not sure what you mean by "current status", but everything else runs fine. I can Export and attach my System Information page if that would be helpful.
This problem started with the "upgrade" to this version, where you are forced to install Opera as well. I uninstall Opera, since I'm quite happy with Firefox, and hope there's nothing about uninstalling Opera that might cause the problem (I use Revo Uninstaller to make sure I get everything in the Registry, etc., removed.) I don't remember the exact day the Opera upgrade was dropped, but it's been fairly recently; sometime within the last 7-10 days.
I'm happy to try again, by uninstalling Avira and reinstalling, but as I mentioned, at that point I may as well try something else if I'm not confident that the issue has indeed been resolved. Looking forward to your reply. Thank you!

Hello Rick,
Sorry, we're sorry not to get accurate information from the technical department now - this weekend.
That's why I said please wait - probably the corrected version is not yet delivered to you.Toni Ruch: It’s fixed with version 1.0.37.12019.
This version will be rolled out in stages to all customers.
We have no documents about the numbers of the delivery. Probably the correction has a new number, but that cannot be said with certainty now from here.
I'm sure we'll be able to give you more detailed information on Monday.
Many greetings and a nice weekend

Hi Pascha -
I can wait until Monday for a fix. Clearly, from all the comments I followed on the thread you posted, this is not an isolated problem, and one *not* fixed with version 1.0.37.12019. We'll talk at the end of the day Monday. Have a great weekend!

Hey Rick,
I'm jumping in here real quick. Could you please post a screenshot of that splash screen you are talking about, so we can identify if this the same problem that we intended to fix on Friday?
Thanks!
Best,
Toni Ruch
