Avira Control Panel Pop-up
CompletedHello,
Avira control panel (or whatever it is called) has been showing up on every Windows start up for the last few days. This didn't use to happen. It's not actually an issue but I don't like seeing it every time the PC boots. Couldn't find any way to prevent it, since there is only a single option in settings, which is the language selection. Deactivating Avira in Task Manager's Startup tab will not help, and Avira will not automatically run when PC boots if you do so, which is not what I want.
Is there a way to prevent Avira control panel from popping up on every start up?
Thanks

Hello everyone,
as we recognized that this issue is not fixed for everyone we've investigated a bit more. Thanks Barry Redmond for providing your logfiles!
We've just pushed out version 1.0.37.12157 which again is aimed to address the issue of the Avira Security Control panel popping up after reboot or sleep/standby.
You'll either get this via the automatic update or if you uninstall & reinstall Avira Security as Sohail Husain already suggested. Thanks for that as well.
Please let us know if the issue is now fixed for you or not.
Best,
Toni Ruch

Hello Wlad,
The language setting can be adjusted with the gear wheel in the upper right corner.
In the new interface, you will find 4 options on the left side : Status - Security - Privacy - Performance.
There you can click on the wheel icon next to the selected option to access the different settings.Does this information help?
If not, please contact us again, we will be happy to help.Kind regards
Note Sorry. I had forgotten the link:

I don't want to speak on Wlad's behalf, but I came here to ask the same question, and your answer doesn't solve it. We don't want the interface to pop up every time we turn on our computers. It's very irritating, and it just started happening this week. Please let us know how we can disable the automatic startup.
Thanks.

Thanks for the answer, pascha45. But it doesn't solve anything.

This also started happening to me in the last few days, since updating Avira, and it's very annoying. Is there a solution yet please?

We have BD gravity zone endpoints running on quite a few media display computers. Now, with the control panel popping up at reboot, which we do everyday, our media is being covered by the control panel. Please provide a fix for us to stop this new function. I have hundreds to deal with. Thank you for your immediate attention to this.

Hello,
We have just received the following answer from the support team regarding the questions
"Avira Control Panel Pop up"
"Unfortunately, there is no option at the moment to change this behaviour.
Our developer plan to add different options from the old version, but there is no actual schedule, when this options go live, sorry."Kind regards

Came here with the very same question of the pop up happening every time the computer starts. And see that there is no schedule to fix this. This is very very disappointing . How can there not be an option to stop this behaviour. Please please fix this as soon as possible. If it is to go on to long, indefinitely, I will have to reconsider my anti virus vendor.

It's definitely too much now... The latest changes and especially the very annoying windows popping up each and every time (!) I unlock my computer are more than frustrating.
As there is no timeline on fixing this issue, I will uninstall this software right away and cancel my subscription.
Once a really good tool, it's now just getting worse and worse...

Looks like you better speak to your development team about changing this. Like the unhappy customers above, I will be cancelling my subscription and uninstalling the software. We have many options for Antivirus programs, and the constant pop-up is very annoying.

It is bizarre how it is acceptable that every time I start my pc the Avira control panel pop up window pops up. Is it the case that you are just trying to get rid of the people who use the free product?
2 -
Since there is no plan to change this behaviour, was there a plan to create this behaviour?
And if there was no plan to create this behaviour it's quite common to call this a bug.It worries me that an antivirus company has no policy or timeline to prevent or eliminate bugs...
I hope this is miscommunication with customer support, but otherwise reconsidering vendors is a serious option.5 -
Même problème chez moi, c'est assez énervant de voir cette fenêtre apparaître au démarrage, sans qu'on lui ait rien demandé...
1 -
I quite agree this needs fixing, your upgrade is causing many unhappy users
2 -
What is wrong with all these developers on this type of thing? Is it there first day in the industry? Or, maybe they are trying to get rid of all the free subscribers? I'll give them a week, or two and then remove Avira. If I were thinking of upgrading and paying for the service this will make the decision to not. What don't they understand about the concept of running "in the background", lol.

And it's not only at start-up-- For me it's every time my screen goes to sleep and I wake it up. So I get this stupid thing 20 or 30 times a day. What moron designed this?
9 -
Yes, does it for me also every time the screen saver comes on , then I move the mouse and hey presto up it pops.
1 -
Same here. The developers are Morons for implementing such a feature and thinking that it would be well received.
You should have a quick launch to 'Add or remove Programs' with a shortcut to delete Avira.
3 -
Which idiot designed this behavior, this is bloatware behavior and will be kicked from my system in a week.. fix this ASAP

It's actually getting worse, like a real-world virus. Now every time Avira updates its database, it pops up. This began in sync with this web-campaign to try their upgrade. Now never going to give that a shot. Why are Germans so good at making physical products but so weak in marketing ... and somewhere in between in programming?
4 -
As everyone else has said, please get rid of this feature or allow us to turn it off otherwise I am uninstalling.
5 -
+1...
Terrible feature, how can you even think of doing this? Will leave you soon, please change behaviour ASAP!
And +1 on every single profanity in this thread.

Same case here, not only start but when I when I come back from a break also appear. How is this possible?? only solution so far, uninstall and cancel suscription?
3 -
For me this was getting so annoying, I had to uninstall the programm and install a new AV in my PC. Thank you Avira for your terrible customer service!

It looks like either Avira fixed this bug (if so, vielen dank) or that my installing the somewhat odd/old/awkward BgPKiller appears to have seamlessly removed the pop-up in my Windows 7 laptop.

It appears not to be a consistent problem, Pop up keeps occurring on my laptop but not on PC. Both are running same versions on W10 Pro and same version of Avira (1.0.37.11666). Irrespective of this it is still a pain and if it does not get corrected shortly I, like others, will be looking for an alternative free antivirus.
From the responses to previous posts looks like Avira don't care about customer satisfaction.

Avira has become a problem. A few days ago I updated and it force installed Opera browser. This is the sort of behaviour Avira is supposed to detect in other installers. If this crappy annoying control panel isn't gone by the end of the week I'll finally be done with Avira

This is extremely annoying. For a few days I've been trying to figure out why this started happening to me and not been able to find a way of stopping it then I came across this thread and realise I am not alone.
Come on Avira developers, do somethig about it or you will be losing yet another user.

I too have this problem with Avira popping up every time i log on, very annoying!
Please fix!
