Scan file from contextual menu gone ?
TerminéeHi,
After the (very pretty) 1.3.6 update, the "Scan with Avira" service in the contextual menu (right click on file or volume) disappeared.
I no longer have the option to scan just a specific file or folder.
I would assume newer versions add features, not strip them away.
Is there a way to get this back, because scanning my entire computer every time I just want to check a little file is going to become retarded really fast.
Merci :)

Hello John,
Whoever installed it would not want to miss it.
With Win 10 and Avira Prime the shell extension is still available in the context menu.
With macOS, I can't tell if it should be installed.By Win 10 it was often not marked during the installation, but it could be checked later with the repair installation and thus this component could be installed.
In the following I have posted a contribution:
Unfortunately I can't say anything about this with your OS. Can you perform a repair installation and select certain components?
Maybe this description will help you to check if it is possible to install the context menu is available in all versions would have to be clarified.
Unfortunately I cannot give you a concrete answer regarding your Avira version and your OS.
Maybe you could let us know your experience, that would be nice.I wish you success in your search, I wouldn't want to miss this function either.
Many greetings and a nice pre-Christmas time.

Thanks for your nice and detailed answer Pascha,
So yes this happened to me on Mac OS after the latest Avira update (nothing else updated), Mac OS 10.15.6
The contextual menu used to be available on right click, and after the Avira update it was gone.
I checked your support contribution but can't find any solution, even de-installing Avira and downloading it and installing it again.
Merry Christmassies to you too though !0
