Can't finish installing Avira Antivirus MacOS Big Sur

I believe this is the same problem as listed here, but the thread has been closed: https://support.avira.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/360013433018-Installation-problem-with-macOS-catalina-10-15-6 

I am trying to install avira antivirus on my mac, I click through the install prompt, drag the icon to my Full Disk Access list of programs, and then nothing happens. The installer just stays stuck on step 2.

Does anyone know of a workaround or when this will be fixed?

  Hello Jacques,

  Well, first of all, please make sure that you're using the latest installation kit of Avira Security for macOS. Also, see if there are pending macOS updates that need to be installed first.

  I have no pending Mac updates because it’s a new Mac I just bought. So I Downloaded Avira and it wont install. It’s stuck on step 2. So frustrating
