You see this message on your Avira Security app if you have manually disabled the Avira Security app from the Allow in the Background section on your Mac.
When you install the Avira Security app on your Mac, it is automatically enabled in the Allow in the Background section. The Avira Security app relies on background access to:
- Deliver real-time protection against threats
- Install critical security updates
- Monitor system activity for potential risks
- Update License Information
The Login Items and Extensions feature on your macOS (Ventura) or later includes a feature called Allow in the Background, which allows you to control the background activity of the applications installed on your Mac. With the previous versions of macOS (macOS Monterey 12.x or earlier), the installed applications are always allowed to perform the background tasks.
To maintain optimal protection, always keep the Avira Security app enabled in the Allow in the Background and Login Items sections of your macOS settings.
On the Avira Security app main window, click Open or click Open Settings from the alert.
Click General on the left panel and click Login Items and Extensions on the right panel.
Under the Allow in the Background section, next to Avira Security, click the grey slider so that it changes to blue (ON) to enable and allow Avira to perform the background tasks.
When prompted, type your Mac administrator account password, and then click Modify Settings.
