With the release of Chrome 142.0.7444.21 for Android, Google has introduced a new permission model for third-party autofill services.
This change affects how password managers and other autofill apps integrate with the Chrome browser.
To ensure seamless autofill functionality, users must now grant two distinct permissions:
- Android Autofill Permission
- Chrome Autofill Permission
Follow these steps to enable "Autofill using another service" in Chrome:
- Open Chrome on your Android device.
- Tap the three-dot menu in the top-right corner and go to Settings.
- Scroll down and tap Autofill Services.
- Select "Autofill using another service".
- Choose your preferred autofill app (e.g., Avira Password Manager).
- Tap Restart Chrome to apply the change.
