For the sake of other users looking into this problem, I can confirm any issue with freezing after you log in is tied to the Avira update. My Windows 11 PC was completely locked up by this, but my Windows 10 was mostly unaffected. I rolled back my Windows 11 to a few days ago and that rolled the update back. If you can't (or don't) want to do that, go into Safe Mode and uninstall what you can of Avira, then boot up normally and finish the uninstall. Really sucks but as far as I know this is the only fix at the moment.

I had the same issue. Couldn´t open any application nor any windows setup like System Manager or whatever. I entered the Safe Mode withou network and repaired Avira via the App Manager. Afterwards it is working again.

Very like to my problem. I am using an HP 17Ca... (Ryzen 7) notebook under Win 10 Home as well as an ASUS 17X M1703QA (Ryzen 9) notebook under Win 11 Home. Either of them running Avira Antivirus Pro and updated with respect to OS and UEFI firmware.
HP notebook: A week ago bootup was as usual. But sometimes, at once after bootup or after some time, mouse cursor and button highlighting seemed to work as usual, however, left clicking buttons was of no avail any more. I couldn´t start any program or function then and I couldn´t even accomplish a regular shut down but rather had to fall back on hard shut down by pushing down the power switch of the notebook for several seconds. It was still possible to work for a while for some more bootups. Yesterday however, the computer stubbornly kept showing this behaviour after booting up right away, so it was but useless.
ASUS notebook: I had just purchased the notebook and was still about setting it up yesterday. I had installed Avira about five days ago. Yesterday it performed exactly the same show as the HP notebook. With the only exception that the ASUS notebook didn´t show the background of the login screen it used to show before (i. e. not the Windows standard of changing landscape pictures but rather a persisting designed style screen).
Solution for both notebooks: I went to the startup menu during bootup. With the HP notebook I had to choose "System Recovery" to reach Windows "Advanved Startup" (WinRE). There I picked "Trouble Shoot" and "Advanced Options" and "Startup settings" and "Reboot" and then just chose option 8 "Disable protection of the anti malware jump start" (or descriptions of similar meaning as I don´t use English language setting, take my apologies for the free transcription) in respective order. After the bootup, everything worked as it should so far, so immediately I went about uninstalling Avira in the common way, i. e. by use of the Windows Control Panel | Apps | Uninstall features. After clicking "Uninstall" Avira asked whether to be repaired or uninstalled, I picked "Repair". Avira set to work an after about 70% progress it said repair had not been successful and to reboot. After reboot and login I repeated the uninstall procedure while opting for repair again in the same way, and this time Avira reported success.
Both notebooks since work fine, I hope they stay this way.

I have encountered same problem, had to uninstall it and reinstall. What is the problem, did Avira fixed it?

We are having the same problem on many computers. The computer freezes and becomes unresponsive. We were able to turn it off only with the power button. When you remove Avira everything goes back to normal. We tried to contact support but they don't know anything and have no solution.
