Avira Free Anti Virus not working with Mac OS Big Sur 11.5.2

My Avira program which has worked well for years is no longer working with MacOS Big Sur 11.5.2. I am invited to set up Avira and I give the necessary permissions but the Later button I am instructed to click never appears. The umbrella remains closed in the toolbar with a red dot next to it and "Your antivirus protection is off" appears in grey.

Is Avira Free Security compatible with mac OS Big Sur 11.5.2? If so, I would like to uninstall and re-install but there is no uninstall option offered. 

Any help on how to resolve this would be gratefully received.
