    Hello Jeroen,

    Did you follow these instructions:

How do I uninstall Avira Antivirus for Mac? – Official Avira Support | Knowledgebase & Customer Support | Avira

Did you try to remove the remaining files?

How do I uninstall leftover files relating to Avira Antivirus for Mac without the uninstaller? – Official Avira Support | Knowledgebase & Customer Support | Avira

Please describe exactly how you have already tried to uninstall the programme. Something seems not to have been completed, so we need concrete details of how you have tried to complete the uninstallation correctly so far.

    Thank you for your understanding.

    Many greetings

    Hi Pascha,

Thank you for your swift response. It's appreciated!

I followed the instructions provided by Avira (and featured in the links you sent me). I dropped the Avira application in the bin & went through the installation process. After noticing I was still receiving the pop-ups to finish setup, I followed the instructions to remove the leftover files through the Avira Uninstaller command in the mac terminal.

    Thanks again.

    Kind regards

    Jeroen

    Hello Jeroen,

First of all, we're sorry that you're facing issues with our Avira Security software.

As an addition to pascha45 well-selected information we still need to do a deeper investigation:

    • Which macOS literation do you use in detail (10.14.xx)
    • Do you use or latest installation kit from your Avira account or do you grab it from a different source?
    • Please provide a screenshot of the message which is nagging you

    Best,

    Hi Lukas,

    Thank you for your reply.

For some reason the messages randomly stopped appearing on my screen after 4-5 hours. I guess it's one of those things where if you ask for help you magically stop getting the error...

However, to answer your questions (maybe for future reference), please see below:

    • Which macOS literation do you use in detail (10.14.xx) I'm using macOS 10.14.6 (18G103)
    • Do you use or latest installation kit from your Avira account or do you grab it from a different source? I downloaded it from the Avira website
    • Please provide a screenshot of the message which is nagging you I wasnt able to include my own screenshot as I don't seem to get the notification anymore, but I found the exact same pop-up online. See: https://support.avira.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/360008428538-Avira-setup-never-stops-

    Best,

    Jeroen

    Hi Jeroen,

Well, thank you for your reply. It's quite a strange behavior as we cannot reproduce this issue atm. So, as it seems to be solved in your system we're still confused.

Please monitor this one and if you're facing issues again, please drop me a message.

    Have a nice day ahead.

    Best,

    Lukas Huptas
