Umbrella closed, protection on?

I have used Avira for many years and love the product. I am familiar with several behaviors including that the umbrella icon in Windows 10 will be open to indicate protection is on. Recently, I've noticed that the umbrella is closed, even though when I am in the software, it says protection is on.
Is protection on, and if so, how can I get the umbrella to open back up to give me that reassurance?

Which Avira version is installed on your system, Free or purchased version?Have you already tried a repair installation:
If the behavior has not changed, here is a guide for uninstalling and reinstalling
and subsequent reinstallation
and also for manual reinstallation:
